How to Reply to Reviews Using AI in ReviewRover

ReviewRover lets you respond to your Google reviews directly from your dashboard using AI-generated replies. Choose your tone, generate a draft, make any edits, and post to Google — all in a few clicks without ever leaving ReviewRover.

Step 1: Go to My Reviews

Click My Reviews in the left sidebar. This displays all reviews from your connected Google Business Profile, along with their rating, date, and reply status.

Reviews that have already been replied to will show a green Replied badge with the date the reply was posted.

Step 2: Open a Review

Find the review you want to respond to and click View in the Actions column. This opens the individual review and reply panel.

Step 3: Select Your Tone

Before generating a reply, choose your preferred tone:

  • Casual — warm and conversational, works well for most 5-star reviews
  • Formal — professional and measured, better suited for sensitive feedback or business clients

Step 4: Generate Your Reply

Click Generate. ReviewRover's AI will draft a reply tailored to the content of the review and your selected tone.

The generated reply is fully editable — adjust the wording, add a personal touch, or rewrite any part of it before posting.

Step 5: Post to Google

When you're happy with the reply, click Post to GBP. The response is submitted directly to your Google Business Profile instantly — no need to log into Google separately.

Why Responding to Reviews Matters

Replying to reviews — positive and negative — signals to Google that you're an active, engaged business. This can improve your local search ranking and map-pack visibility. It also shows prospective customers that you stand behind your work and take feedback seriously.

Pro Tips

  • Reply to every review, not just the negative ones. Thanking happy customers reinforces the relationship and looks great to prospects reading your reviews.
  • Even with AI-generated drafts, adding one personal detail — the customer's name, the service they received — makes the reply feel authentic.
  • Use Formal tone for any review where the customer mentioned a specific issue or complaint, even if it's only 4 stars.
  • Auto-reply to all reviews is currently in development — stay tuned via the What's New section in your sidebar.
