Flow Settings
Flow Settings
Flow Settings is where you configure two important aspects of how your review requests work — which customers get directed to Google, and how reviews are distributed across multiple Google Business Profiles if you have more than one location.
To access it, click Review Request Flow in the left sidebar, then click Settings.
Review Selection
The Review Selection setting controls what happens after a customer taps their star rating in your review request.
You have two options:
4 or 5 stars → Google Customers who rate themselves as 4 or 5 stars are directed to your Google Business Profile to leave a public review. Customers who rate 3 stars or below are shown an additional step where they can share private feedback directly with you.
5 stars only → Google Only customers who rate 5 stars are directed to Google. Customers who rate 4 stars or below are shown the private feedback step instead.
Click Save after selecting your preference.
Which option should I choose?
Most businesses start with 4 or 5 stars. This drives higher review volume since a larger percentage of customers are sent to Google. If your business is in a highly competitive market where average star rating matters as much as volume, 5 stars only gives you tighter quality control.
Important — This Is Not Review Gating
Regardless of which option you select, all customers receive a link to leave a Google review. The star rating threshold simply determines at what point the private feedback step is shown. Every customer always has a path to Google. ReviewRover is fully compliant with Google's review policies.
The Feedback inbox is a customer service tool — it gives you a chance to follow up with customers who had a less-than-perfect experience before they decide whether to post publicly. It is not a filter that blocks anyone from Google.
Multiple Google Business Profiles
If you have more than one Google Business Profile connected to ReviewRover, this section lets you control how review requests are distributed across your locations.
Distribution Options
Round-Robin Review requests rotate equally across all connected GBPs. Each new contact enrolled is sent to the next GBP in the rotation. Use this when all your locations need roughly equal review growth.
Weighted You manually set the percentage of review requests each GBP receives using sliders. The total across all locations must equal 100%. Use this when some locations need more reviews than others — for example, a newer location that needs to catch up, or a flagship location in a competitive market.
Both options are live and available to all accounts with multiple GBPs connected.
How to Set Up Weighted Distribution
- Select Weighted under Distribution
- A slider appears for each connected GBP
- Adjust the sliders until the percentages reflect how you want requests distributed
- Confirm the Total at the bottom shows 100%
- Click Save
If the total doesn't equal 100% the settings won't save — adjust your sliders until they balance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Review Selection setting apply to all my locations? Each GBP location in ReviewRover has its own Flow Settings. Switch between locations using the dropdown in the top-right corner of your dashboard to configure each one independently.
Can I change my Review Selection setting after I've already started sending? Yes. The change applies to all contacts going forward from the moment you save. Contacts already mid-sequence are not affected.
What happens to the private feedback from customers who don't get sent to Google? It appears in the Feedbacks section of your dashboard. You can view each message, see the customer's name, and follow up directly. See our Feedbacks article for more detail.
Can I change the weighted distribution percentages over time? Yes. You can update the sliders and save new percentages at any time. The change applies to all new contacts enrolled after saving.
What if I only have one GBP connected? The Multiple Google Business Profiles section still appears but distribution settings only take effect when two or more GBPs are connected to the same account.
Does round-robin rotate evenly from the very first contact? Yes. The rotation starts immediately and cycles through each connected GBP in sequence from the first contact enrolled.
